Im OK folks. Im in Reykjavik now....

O men, took bus from Staðarskáli to Reykjavik. What a trip. The car is still in Staðarskáli, not working and now im looking forward go showering and work on my picture.

What a mazing trip. Alot af adventure and things that could go wrong, did that. Every single thing. But its over and I would be ready to go again tomorrow if I could :)

Hello, 11 days and 1 day without rain. Whats that.
This days, 10 days, took a lot of energy, trying to walk and take pictures and we are talking about I have live in a Toyota Hiaca car. All my clothes, I mean all, are wet.....
I plan my trip wrong, next time, totaly different.

Great day in Mývatn

In Mývatn I spent a lot of time. What a beautifull place. Mývatn and Skaftafell is my favorite places after this trip. So I drove all around Mývatn, following the sun and the light and shadow thing. Great to have finaly sun and no rain. Walked about 10 km, to Dimmuborgir, up to Hverfell and and many small places. If I would have more time I had spend 1-2 more days there, so crazy plase. Insted I drove to Húsavík. There I met my friend from Italy and France, guys that I drove to Egilsstaðir. From Húsavík id drove to Akureyri where I am now. Geting me ready to keep going and mabe just go to Reykjavík and finish my trip. Distans to Reykjavík is 381 km.
Now I have drive 1758 km so far.
Weather is ok, not raining, but alot of clouds and no wind.

From Ásbyrgi I drove a nother gravel road and my destination was Mývatn. This two roads to and from Ásbyrgi was made in hell, but ofcourse this is 4x4 jeep road and u can chose another better road to Ásbyrgi ofcourse. On my way I went to see alot of intresting places like Karl og Kerling, Dettifoss, Selfoss. More information later about this places.
Rain, rain and more rain. When I was in Dettifoss I wait in my car for about 15 min, then the big gray sky had empty the watertank I went out to take photos, still in a rain... hehe. Great waterfalls there and amazing atmosphere. When the nature is so big, powerfull, and just overwhelming I get strange feeling, like not save and unsecure. get stressed because of the landscape. Really strange and I dont fell good but great, beautifull place and I would go there again. So much power there.
Drive along and took alot of pictures, have taken over 24 mb of photos. And later on Im going to put final image later here with more informations about this places that I have visiting.
After driving this endless gravel road, I finally came on a main road to Mývatn. There was a few people going on horses and took amazing photos there.
I came to Myvatn about 21:00 and this is so beautifull. Wooowww. Going to sleep here and next day Im going to photograph many intresting things around here. I just love this place. My favorite so on.

Report - 03.08.2009

In Egilsstaðir I drove around the place. Nice place. This is where we have our forrest in Iceland and also where Kárahnjúkar. Biggest hydropower damn here in Iceland. Went there and on the outside its nothing special, big, but nothing more than that. The everything was closed there so I couldn go inside the damn where the things are going on and mabe more catchy things. At least I have seen it. The people, most foreigner, who build it should have award for it in this dangerous and hard conditions.
After that I went to Hallormsstaðarskógur. Yes, we have a forrest here in Iceland, and back to Egilsstaðir, whent to small swimmingpool there, took a few photos and on the road again to my next destination. The trip whent from Egilsstaðir to Ásbyrgi. The road to Ásbyrgi is terrible to drive. Throug the years I have heard people talking about this place. Ok beautyfull place but for me I thing nothing speciall, but mabe I have to search and walk more in the area.

Driving in rain to Ásbyrgi, but got sun for a 5 min and alot of rain. I have been in wet clothes all the time..... nice :)

02. august 2009 - Next stop ?

Now Im going to Egilstaðir or as close as I can. Just depends on the car and the time.

Report from the happy guy. Im now in Egilstaðir. Came here 17:30 with 3 foreigners from France and Italia. Nice trip whit them to Egilstaðir. I have just eat burgers and drinking red wine, listening to the radio and the rain. Have been raining all the trip, except one day, yesterday.
So tonight im going to work on some pictures, and this is not the final result of the image. The final photos coming later.
Just if u could see me now in the Hiace, so cosy, and listening to the rain...... MMmmm. Need a candle light. Romantic night with my self.

Have been 2 days in Höfn í Hornafirði, just relaxing. Met my friend Bára and her family and we had a great time here. Eating good food and having fun.
Took many photos yestarday and are starting to prework the picture just to see how its going to look like when Im going to work on the big image. This is just trial, not the final result.
Weater this 2 days in Höfn have been nice. Little sun but allways cloudy.

Report from yeasterday, 31. august : After all the drama before I was on my rout to Skaftafell. Bigest national park in europe. It was about 130-160 km from the Seljalandsfoss the waterfall to Skaftafell. But I need more drama for sure.... Whats going on...
I was on my way and got call from one guy and he said that I have to go and take picture of part of airplane that are in a area between the waterfall and Skaftafell, and he told me the right gate that I had to go throug but nothing more. So I went throug the right gate but wrong direction and got stuck in the sand. So I had to call police, that call nearest farmer that call me and came and save me. Here in Iceland we have Hjálparsveit Skáta, people around Iceland working for nothing but the the mission, save people. Volunteer that are ready t0 sacrifice their time and put them selfs often in danger for u. So when I got stuck in the sand and a farmer came and saved my ass just paid him 5000 isk kr. for him, oil and to so thanks alot for the help, he is part of this association, Hjálparsveit Skáta. When I was stuck there I just play on my harmonica and relaxed. But when I whent out twice, big birds, Skúmur/Stercorarius skua, almost killed me. What the fu.... They almost kill me.
So I got out from the sand and back to road 1. Raining all the time and I got this mystic strange cool light. Great situation to take picture. Whent to alot of places and about 15:00 I was in Skaftafell, bigest national park in europe. I met there one of my girlfriend, Margrét, and we had amazing time, drove about 150 km all around, took bunch of pict. and in the end of the night we had a few beers and hot tub. Like a dream. Realy good dream.

What a mazing time - true or story, mabe just true story

.... But for me its more like ToyStory where I can play with my camera and the nature. To do something like this is more than talk. Thats for sure. Im so tired now that I dont have energy to put photos and tell the story about my trip today and all the drama, so tomorrow when I wake up Im going to tell u all about it.

New day, new hope.

Whats going on in the kitchen ? Húff. What a drama. It looks like I should not go thist trip because of all the trouble that I had to survive. The carS problem are just one of many, many things that have gone wrong. But forget that. Here I am, at Seljalandsfoss. My systers husband came and saves my ass when the car broked down. He have also let me have this cars to travel around Iceland. He fixed the car and Im on the road again. As happy as I can, but we have to see how long I can go. If I can go my trip in this or other car Im ready to do what ever u whant for a week. :) Just say it, and I do it Just like in a excited story. Time now is 5:00 AM and Im full of energy, have been photographing alitle bit. But I think I have to go and sleep, just a nap. Looking forward to next day and all the drama and the trouble that are going to follow me. What is that.
This is my favorite place in Iceland. So if I can go somewhere else in Iceland on this car, it is competition between this place and some other more beautiful.

P.S. Have been raining, very windy and cold last 2 days, ok but ....
.... hey boring weather and all this trouble, who should I pay for a little help ?

My car Toyota Hiace is heating the engine to much so I dont know how far I can go. Im cooling the car down now, then putting more water and then go to Keflavik to let someone check my car.

First day over, and big surprise

I start my trip around 19:00 yesterday and was going to drive about 330 km but I didnt. :)I just drove 96,9 km and are still close to Reykjavik after one day. hehe

Im sleppt in Garður, Garðskagaviti. Whent to sleep about 04:00 because I was walking at the lighthouse Garðskagaviti and takeing photos. Situatition: Really dark, much wind and mabe 4-5°C. So when I was takeing photo there I saw something on the left, something moving. I start to look, hard to see anything there because of the night. But there was a seal. Small, beautiful seal. I started to take photos and when I walked down tothe sea and wasabout 1 meter from the seal I saw that he was trapped in a fishing net, around him, so he was gona die if I didnt do anything. The darkness and mud there make that realy hard for me, doing it alone. So I called the police and ask for help. After 3 calls and 3 hours later they finaly came but the seal was gone. I just think, thanx for that I was not trapped in this net. I would be dead now. So I stopped here, Garður, and sleep well. When I wake up I check the sea but no seal. So now Im going somewhere else. Picture coming later.

one and half hour and Im driving around Iceland. Imagine that. Plan that I have been thinking about for many years, and now its happening. How happy and lucky can I be.
Try to put something on the net tonight :)

Little late but now im on the road, 19:00. Bought a harmonica so Im ready :)

So today I got rent some equipments that I have to use in my trip. So I just need one BIG thing, GPS. I buy it to morrow.

But u can see how I have plan my day 1, tomorrow, if everything works, hopefully.
I have put almost everything in my car and are almost ready. It looks like Im not coming back or are going to stay for months.... hehehe. But Im going to finish my circle, if I have to finish it on my fuc...... finger, thumbs up, think I would do it.
O men, Im so scared and so happy and everything to go. Just go and start the trip. Old dream coming true, blue.

My first video is now here on right side. So if everything is working while Im traveling u are going to see more of short videos and photos.

Tomorrow is also the big earthquake day like I told before.

P.S. Whent to Whale whatching today. That was ok, but not something special.

Nothing is working :)

Alot of trouble have been going on.

Yesterday everything was happening. I have been driving on this Toyota Hiace that I took picture of for a while, but yesterday he stopped charging the battery. And when I tryed to fix the problem the result was that the alternator was not working and it is hell to chance it in this type of car. So...
... But I know alot of good people, especially my family, and I got another Hiace, also red, disel that are much better, and also better to drive this new car. So I took the bed out af the old Hiace and mixed it into the new one. Not perfect but its ok like the video that im making now show u :).
Yepp the first video are going to the net and maybe my first video where Im talking. And that was difficult to make the first video of me talking to the camera but when I have made one or two more videos its gona be easyer.

Lot of things that I still have to do. And the most important thing that I have to do is getting another GPS.

I have been with my son, Breki, last 2 weeks and the last day is tomorrow so the plan is go together on whale watching. So tomorrow Breki is going to his mom for next 2 weeks and Im going around Iceland. Yeaaa.

3 days and Im gone

Hmmm... Lot of things have been going on today. My car Hiace started to show some red light in dashboard. Not good, something wrong with the battery or like he is not chargeing. But tomorrow Im going to find out what the problem is.
I have been trying to get the GPS Magellan to work with my computer but still nothing work. I cant export my rout and GPS points to Magellan. So... Mabe I can borrow another GPS, Garmin, tomorrow. Hope so, at least try it to see if that GPS is working and want talk to my computer.
Just trouble but that is just how things work. More stress, just better. :)

But to another thing. One medium here in Iceland have predict a big, massive earthquake on 27. july. Same day that Im going to start my trip, south side of Iceland. And she think its gona be 23:15 that day. Big, she are talking about earthquake that are between 4-6 richter. If its true then its bad time, lot of people sleeping. But we will see. Not that we here in Iceland are not used to have earthquake. U can check this site. Shaken not stirred !

Great day

Today I went to Njarðvík visiting my friend Bára and her family and borrowed GPS Navigator. Really sunny day, 22° C and had amazing time there, just relax and they made a great dinner. Thx alot for the day.
When I came back to Reykjavik I went to another friends, Ási and Siggi. Siggi fixed my computer so now everything is on schedule, almost. And again thx alot for your helps guys.

The weather is changeing from hot, sunny days to cold, rain and wind. Like the picture below. This is the forecast for my starting day, 27. july. But who cares. Im going anyway so....

I talked about this TV show Ultimate Survivor for 2 days I go and the funny thing is that yesterday I was watching the show and he was surviving Iceland... hehehe. And he died........
No, just kidding he made it with a lot of drama :)

Everything on going.

Today I got few GB of Compact Flash camera card, few mini Dv cassettes and have almost finished my plan in Garmin Icelandic map. So Im almost ready.
But I still need the most important thing. GPS Garmin Navigator. :(

Have to make testing video of me and the idea of my document is some TV show called Survivor man. Hehehe. He have atleast 5 cameras but Im just gona use one. But Im happy, like allways.

6 days and Im gonner. And coming sooner or later. :)

NEWS about roadtrip around Iceland 2009

Hello everybody. My plan was starting the trip 13. juli but I have desited to start the trip 27. juli 2009. There is a lot of stress and some panic now. I need more time to get everything in order, but at the end of the day its dosn't matter, Im going anyway after one week.

Today I got Toyota Hiacewitch looks nice after some indoor and outdoor cleaning. I have furnished it with a bed and other nessasary things for the trawell. So thats cool.
Things that I need now is bigger compact flash camera card, GPS Garmin navigator, alot of mini DV Video Cassettes and finish my rout around Iceland in my computer for my GPS, get another computer to cut the video in.
I have put in my Garmin Map about 200 intresting places and still putting more informations in my rout.

Im planing to be on a trip for about 14 days and drive about 3.000 km, take hundreds of pictures and record alot of video cassettes, try to make a small documentary about me.
Try to put photos in my blog and flickr site every night, and video every second day.
Tonight or tomorrow Im going to do testing video shoot, try to cut it and put it on the net.
I also want to decorate the Hiace on the outsite with logo or something just for fun. Hehehe.
